Another gorgeous winter wedding this January! As much as I do love a cozy snowfall, I am loving these mild temperatures even more because it means my couples aren’t freezing on their wedding day — and we’re able to go outside for portraits, even if only in five to ten minute spurts!
Sharon and Scott are a fellow dating-app-success-story! They initially met on Hinge and moved in together right before the pandemic in February 2020, and from there the rest is history! It has been such a pleasure getting to know these two throughout their wedding planning journey, and for so long their wedding day felt like such a far-off time in the very distant future — and yet suddenly, it was here!
We started the day out at Canopy by Hilton in Jersey City, where Sharon got her glam on thanks to the very talented Mia and Bridget. It was the first time I was meeting Sharon in person, and yet it felt like I’d already known her for years! As always I started off with details, including Sharon’s chic (and apparently comfortable!) Manolo Blahniks, Jo Malone wedding day perfume, and gorgeous jewelry. These two opted to use paperless post so they didn’t have an invitation suite, but it was still so much fun playing around and capturing their thoughtful details.
Just down the hall Scott was getting ready at the same time, but little did he know Sharon had an unexpected surprise planned for him. A devout Eagles fan, Scott was missing a huge game that evening — but the Cameo Sharon gifted him with featuring Ron Jaworski, legendary Eagles quarterback, almost made up for it. Scott was so surprised, and it was the perfect way to start off such a special day.
From there we headed to the venue, and the skyline views were as stunning as always. One of the best parts about Maritime Parc is that there are so many gorgeous indoor spaces with white walls and plenty of natural light, aka a photographer’s dream. As Sharon stepped into her dress, Scott and his best men shared a champagne toast. A sweet first look moment between bride and groom led us right into portraits, and my team and I had the best time shooting (and laughing!) with Sharon and Scott. The Aviary was the perfect setting for these two to make their union official, with a beautiful ceremony under the dreamiest chuppah with epic views of New York City in the distance. Sharon, Scott, and their family and friends danced the night away thanks to the incredible talent of the band from Craig Scott Entertainment, and overall it was an absolutely perfect day from start to finish.
