A gorgeous fall day to celebrate Tara and John at The Olde Mill Inn! The whole weekend leading up to this sweet couple’s wedding was absolutely full of rain (like, literal downpours that fully flooded the NYC subways). However, Tara and John were blessed with the most beautiful weather — warm sun-kissed skies and a cool, soft breeze all day.
Tara and John first met in Wildwood in 2019! As Tara tells it, “We met at the NJ State Elks Convention. I attend every year with my friends and family, and we stay at the same hotel every year. John’s mother is a member at a different Elks Lodge and she did not want to go alone so she convinced her son to go with her for the weekend. A friend of my family’s worked with John at the time and knew he was down so he invited him over to hang out at our hotel where we had a DJ and food. John walked over and hung out with him and eventually we bumped into each other (I was passing out vodka soaked gummy bears… yikes) we immediately hit it off in conversation. As the night went on we exchanged numbers.”
“A few days went by after returning home, and I texted John and we had our first date a week later. We have been inseparable ever since. Many of my friends and family were there the night we met and everyone comments how they could just see the chemistry and love.”
These two got engaged in May 2021, and bought their first house shortly after! Tara absolutely loves her engagement ring. “My ring is white gold with a square shape. It’s beautiful! The engagement was a total surprise, so I had never showed him pictures or shopped with him. He did great on his own, I would have picked out the same one.” Together these two live in Port Reading NJ and love relaxing and swimming in their pool, frequenting breweries and wineries, and trying new restaurants!
When Tara and John started thinking about their wedding day, they were looking for three things: fall weather, simple, and classic. As Tara told me, “We were looking for convenience, and loved that The Olde Mill Inn had a hotel attached as well. We also fell in love with the charm, customer service, and beautiful courtyard area.” Thankfully the gorgeous weather allowed the entire day to be outside as planned, and everything was beautiful from start to finish. Congratulations again to sweet Tara and John!
