Ohhh my gosh, where to even begin?! Margaret and Richard are the absolute sweetest, kindest, most incredible couple inside and out, and capturing their wedding day was truly such a wonderful way to start off the season.
From the beautiful, sweeping views at The Architects Golf Club, to the stunning floral designs crafted by the talented Gray’s Florist, this day could not have been more perfect.
I first met Margaret and Richard at their engagement session last fall at Cross Estate Gardens. Instantly, we hit it off. These two found me through a client referral, and boy am I happy our paths crossed. We had an amazing time at their engagement session, and I couldn’t wait to capture their special day just a few months later.
Margaret and Richard have been together for over ten years. They first met when they were both working at Bonefish Grill in 2009, and started officially dating a few years later. Rich asked Margaret to marry him this past September when they were vacationing on Cape Cod. He had been keeping the ring in his pocket (loose!) for almost two months, and I for one am so glad it made it onto Margaret’s finger and not into the ocean!
Having been together for so long, they were eager to quickly plan their wedding and get married. In the throes of COVID, we anxiously waited for restrictions to lift as we got closer and closer to their wedding date of May 1st. Thankfully, things had gotten significantly better by then thanks to vaccinations and a lower number of cases, so their wedding was able to happen exactly as they had always dreamed.
Margaret told me that she was very much inspired by my work when designing the look and feel for her wedding, which pretty much makes me want to cry happy tears! She was drawn to all things light and neutral when making decisions for their special day, and I absolutely love how it came together.
Perhaps one of my favorite aspects of the day was that in lieu of wedding favors, these two instead donated to Carl’s Cats, a volunteer cat rescue foundation, in their guests’ names. As a huge animal lover, I LOVE this idea and think it’s such a meaningful way to give back to the community and a cause you care about.
The day was absolutely perfect, and I am so honored to have been able to tell their story. Here’s what Margaret had to say about working together:
