Spring Princeton University Engagement

Princeton, New Jersey

I’m so excited to share my first engagement session of the spring with Casey and Tim! Although the weather was touch and go all day — even a few rain showers on my drive there — things cleared up and gave us some beautifully diffused cloudy skies, and just the right amount of breeze to keep Casey’s dress flowing in the wind. And, which I didn’t find out until we had already started shooting, it was Casey’s birthday!

These two first met in 2013 at York College of Pennsylvania where Casey was studying nursing and Tim was studying criminal justice — and their paths crossed in quite the serendipitous way! Tim was on the club baseball team, and Casey was on the club softball team. During a dodgeball fundraiser for the teams, Casey was the dodgeball referee and (her words, not mine!) Tim was “very bad” at dodgeball, so he spent a lot of time on the sidelines talking with her.

As Casey tells it, “We connected on Facebook after the fundraiser, and then over Christmas break Tim asked me to go out for lunch with him when we returned to school the following semester. Our first date was at Panera and we were both so nervous we barely touched our food! After that we started spending more time together, and then officially dating on 4/24/14.”

After college, they did long distance for awhile — Casey in Philadelphia, and Tim in the Maryland/DC area. About a year ago, Casey decided to move down to Maryland with him!

Tim popped the question last April, under the guise that they were going to a local winery to meet up with some friends. With both of their families present, Tim asked Casey to marry him! They celebrated with custom wine bottles, a wine tasting, and a picnic.

Casey’s ring is an absolutely beautiful oval-cut diamond with a diamond studded gold band. “I had given Tim a few hints as to what kind of ring I wanted, but ultimately he picked it out all by himself — and he did an amazing job!”

Together, these two like to do almost anything together, including going on walks with their sweet dog, Marlowe, trying new restaurants, coffee shops, or breweries, cooking together at home, going to the movies together, and hosting our family and friends.

I am so excited to celebrate these two early next year at The Mill in Spring Lake! Congratulations, Casey and Tim!
