I am so honored to have been a part of Chelsea and Matt’s special day. They were originally supposed to get married at on May 15th at the Ryland Inn, but unfortunately had to postpone their wedding until next April due to COVID-19. However, they still wanted to get married this year and chose their 12 year dating anniversary — July 28th — to tie the knot.
Chelsea and Matt first met at Smugglers Notch in Vermont in 2004. After seeing each other on and off for a few years they finally began dating in 2008, and the rest is history. Well, sort of! A few years passed and when Matt popped the question, Chelsea couldn’t have been happier. Here’s how Chelsea described Matt’s proposal:
“Matt proposed to me at Antique Loft on January 24th, 2019. He told me it had opened up for dinner reservations and asked me to meet him there for dinner. When I arrived, it was an empty event space and Matt was standing on the opposite side of the space with his hands behind his back smiling. He had made a heart of rose petals and there was a sign of lights behind him that said “Marry Me.” After he got down on one knee to propose, our families came out from behind the wall to surprise me. It was an amazing night.”
Leading up to Chelsea and Matt’s special day, we nervously watched the forecast all week and it seemed as though we were going to be battling with some bad weather for their Tuesday ceremony. But thankfully, luck was finally on this sweet couple’s side and all we had were beautiful sunny skies for the entire ceremony and family photos. Even their adorable pup, Samoa, was perfectly behaved, and the entire day could not have gone better.
A huge congratulations to Chelsea and Matt, and I can’t wait for the two of you to begin the next chapter in your lives together!
